Two Koreans are facing a sentence which might amount to 20 years in prison for cheating in Macao-style midi baccarat and thus defrauding Foxwoods Resort Casino of a sum between $400,000 and $1 million. The team of two used a “holdout device” which enabled them switching cards. The device was concealed in one of the player’s forearm whilst the other one acted as a shield so that the dealer and other players at the baccarat table could not see what was going on. A portion of the winnings was wired back to Korea and part of the money was carried by the cheaters. Located in Connecticut, Foxwoods is one of the biggest casinos in terms of floor space for gaming. Like any casino venue of this scale, it’s equipped with enough security cameras to finally catch anyone attempting a fraud red-handed.
